General spraying lexus lights???

hi,
my spray tint finall came today,

i was just wondering do you think it would be a good idea to spray tint my lexus lights???

i have black lexus lights would they look good tinted and if i do should i do a light tint or a pitch blacked out tint on them???

BTW im planning on tinting the headlights slightly i been told by a police officer that its legal as long as it passes enough light through so a very light tint

and gonna tint the dial cluster cover a slight bit lol

I saw a focus today with lexus lights... with the tint. Looked rather nice even if they where lexus ones... it wasnt completly black was like a dark smoke effect. looked good imo

i think focus lexus lights come with a slight smoke tint cos my mate has them and your right look well good

the only reason i got lexus lights wer cos i like the circular lights rather than standard straight lights,

Love what you've done to your car Brin, but i personally am not a fan of the Lexus lights what so ever.
I've done a quick photoshop of what it might look like with a medium tint, and it still doesn't really make a difference, they still look terrible!


I'd just tint the standard ones and stay well away from the Lexus ones, becuase as TJHPunto said you'd have to tint them completely black so you wouldn't notice haha

Also, off topic; i dont know if this has been asked, but did you wire up your footwell lights to the sidelights? If so, how did you manage it?

Im liking the medium tint look but they should blend in with colour off car when they are on car yeah....you wont be able to see the difference from the body colur and tint on the lights i want it all one colour lol

And no i wired my neons to the cig lighter wires and added a switch for them....if you find out which wires to connect to for the side lights then let me know please

Oi you mofo, iv sprayed them now how the fook do i get the sprasy tint off???

They look 100% better tinted but i messed up got dull patches and runs in the spray:bang:

i want to get it all of and star again butit wont come off

i tryed white spirit but didnt work just makes it shinnier and now i left it to soak in white spirit for like a hour and still nothing it wont come off

i warmed it up fine i just kept spraying loads cos at first it wudnt do anything it stayed clear then all at once it went pitch dark.

I have them soaking in a bucket of 10 litres of white spirit iv scrubbed and scrubbed it doesnt work:bang:

right i got it off with nail vanish remover but now its left some white patches and some dull spots on it, i tryed using glass cleaner, window polish, plastic polish, tar remover, some autoglym product lol but nothing works i dont wanna redo them over dull patches cos itll just go dull

BTW the tine spray has left my lights cracked:bang: all the inside of my light cover has tiny cracks all over it

Karma for A) buying lexus lights B) mucking about trying to hide the fact there lexus lights.

So might aswell of just kept normal lights.

fair enough i can tint my original lights, but im gonn try tint lexus again see if it goes right if not il just buy some more and no i dont learn frommy mistakes lol

just to let you guys know, tinting your rear lights can affect the rear reflectors in the rear lights ona Mk2 and mk1, if they are tinted they will not reflect therefore it would fail a MOT test.

thats why people dont cover the reflective bits or they just stick some reflective stickers on the bumper
