Cheers

hi mate. ive got a sportex back box and they sound wicked. put it on a RR and the bhp as increase a little bit aswell lol but i wouldnt get the dual exit exhaust like mine, jus having loads of problems with it as it sits on the axal, also a metal bracket has snapped of the xhaust. telling the truth mate go for something like supersprint. sportex are ok but for the bracket to snap... not that good TBH

Hmm ok thanks. I was also looking at an ashley backbox. They any good? Tbh i dont really know all that much, just that i would prefer a single tailpipe, about 3" - 4". Obviously i would like it to sound good aswell..

Oh and do they affect the insurance premium much?

thanks

Sportex and ashley are very poor quality.

Ragazzon or supersprint are your best options for an off the shelf backbox.

i must agrre. for an bracket to snap of a exhaust, it must be sh*t. i have to hold it on with a cable tie untill i get it fixed :(

It doesnt matter now anyway, the insurance people have ruined all the fun. I will wait till the current policy ends, then i will get one, or maybe a full system if ive saved enough by then. Thanks for the advise though.

Haha i saw your name a minute ago and realised. But yes it does sound good, is that just the exhaust or have you done anything else?

lol was it you my friend posting the question? ;)

in the video just the backbox, i do have focus induction aswell (makes it sound twice as loud) but took it off so you just get the sound from the sportex backbox in the video

Yes it was me who asked the question on youtube ;). It does sound good, but do you have problems with it like some other people have said they do? How long have you had it?

Oh and a focus induction kit.. any good? haha :D

i have had it on now around 2 weeks and not had a problem (touch wood)

the induction kit is good aswell, but only makes the noise when foot is down, making the noise twice as loud ;)

Hmm.. i was considering investing in an induction kit aswell.. I will have to look into it then, and try find some more money!

I saw one for £40 new, and would fit it myself. Moneys a bit tight at the minute, so i should really leave it for a few months. Did you get yours off the internet?

right i have got a K&N induction kit on my punto and i have just bought a Sportex 3inch back box do you reckon it will sound like the punto in the video

Altough i am looking at a k&n air filter aswell..

Is it just the noise you are after, or power? If it is the former, then K&N will be just fine, but for the latter, you will find the filter sits too close to the hot engine head to give you power gains (may even cause a small loss).

For power, you've got three alternatives to consider...

Enclosed cold air feed to K&N filter (will have to fabricate your own)
Focus induction kit (search forum for installation instructions)
GSR induction kit (locates the filter in the cold space behind the battery tray, near to the wheel arch, the best money can buy for the Punto)

i have just been on the supersprint website (i was thinking about getting an exhaust) but it appears they do not do them for the 1998 punto 1.2 :( any ideas where i could get 1?

well thats how my K&N induction kit is set up
photo.php

put 2 cold air feeds on but the only proble i could see with them GSR induction kit is that because there like a the bottom of the engine there may be a higher chance of water getting sucked in.
but i'm pretty happy with my K&N one now just got to wait for my new back box to come now ;)
