Hey guys, recently i bought a Fiat punto sporting 2004 with less then 200.000 km and 2 previous owners as my first car.

There were some minor problems with it including  both electric windows not working. We first checked the fuses but they were completely fine. Yesterday we removed the entire door panel on the passenger side. We found nothing wrong on the mechanical side, however we did find out there was no voltage coming in.

Anyone got some ideas where to look and if its a common problem on these cars?

Hello,

power window motors COULD be operated via relays.

And cables love to break around the passage from the door to the cab. Check in the download section of the forum if there isn't any documentation available for the 2004 Punto.

Already checked the cables, they look good. I'll have to doublecheck the relays tonight. I'll let you know if something pops up.

Attach the multimeter to the pins / cables and move the door several times to confirm that there is no cut in some position only. You could also move the cable with your hand inside the door, in the space between the door and the body and it would be ideal if you could reach underneath the fender.

Here's the wiring schematics for the electric windows, scanned from the Haynes manual. (have scanned whole page, as it includes the wiring colours, and unit descriptions) Hope this is of some help.

Which lights. The manual has 5 different wiring diagrams for lights.
1) side, tail, number plate lights
2) headlights (side lights, dipped beam, main beam)
3) stop/reversing lights
4)front/rear fog lights
5) indicator/hazard lights

Sorry, probably should've been more specific. I meant the headlights:)
