Splitting the Sub Lead

Just wondering does anyone how to split the sub output cables from head headunit.

Basically im gonna be using my amp and 2x 10" subs from me old car but have to build a new box as it doesnt fit at the mo. Wat i also want to do is have a new 12" Sub and amp powering that. 10's for the quick pumping bass and the 12 for long deep bass.

On my kenwood amp next to the line in from the sub cables, I have another set of line out. (Aswell as the speaker output on the other side of the amp for the subs) Wat im asking is can i basically run my second amp off of the line out next to the line in of this amp as it hasnt gone through the amp yet and so would be technically just be splitting it 2 ways, 1 to the kenwood and another to me new amp??

Any thoughts.?

Also someone has mentioned that it prob be best having either the 2 10"s just the 12" as it could confuse the sound having both.
I like me 10's bass for quick bass tunes but is not deep enough for proper bassy beats, me m8s 12" sub kicks my ass wit his but on the quick tracks it cant cope and ya dont get the beat. Can I not hav best of both worlds ??

Probably wouldn't work all that well, even if you had the 12s play the very lowest frequencies and then have the 10s playing the slightly higher frequencies.

And am I right in thinking that you are talking about RCA inputs and outputs (through outputs)? Sort of daisy chaining the 2 amps together via the RCAs?

Yeah RCA's, Got the usual RCA input but before going through the amp i have the output next to it. In the manual it says the Output from incoming input so assume it means it is just technically been split.

So you to think it'll sound odd?? Hmm might not be a good idea then, Wat bout all these different size subs in big ice builds?

Yeah, you should be able to daisy chain your amps together. The RCA isn't really split, as you don't have 2 separate RCA channels - just one

We were discussing having different sub sizes a while back, and we came to the conclusion that it would be detrimental to SQ.

I reckon it would be a waste of time setting subs set up in a stereo configuration due to bass being more omnidirectional. I think you'd still get the same problems regardless.

Hmmm Ok m8 thanks for you help, I guess ill spend the money on a set of decent componants for the front instead of extra subs, I prefer the 10"s to the 1 12", More defined Sq even tho not so deep

As far as I know, the "Line Out" that you're on about is connected to the line in "pre-amp" so the line out gives exactly the same as whats going into the line in.

Just buy yourself a decent 12" sub you can get some incredibly responsive 12's that will gladly keep up witht he punchiness of the cheaper 10's depends if you wanna spend £300+ on a sub though and then you will need a decent amp to power it.

Know mine thumbs nicely for fast tracks and will drop when it needs to. Its all dependant on the enclosure as well bigger enclosure means lower bass. smaller enclosure for a 12 will make it punchier. and ported sealed makes a huge difference as well.

The enclosure actually has pretty much the most effect on how the sub sounds.

I got two decent 10's thankyou, Spent enough on them as to get a decent set as a 12 wouldnt fit. Just thought having both might be better if not ill stick wit the system i know and like.

Just saying mainly the enclosure that makes the difference if i made a smaller enclosure for my 12 it would be quicker unfortunately due to the sheer size of my sub the normal 12" boxes i could buy it didnt fit in lol.

Was awful carrying the bugger to my car when i got it though it must weigh around 20kg on its own easily. I know with only 2 amps and 1 sub and box my rear suspension dropped noticeably.

the enclosure my sub recommends is nearly double the size the one its in and ported mine is sealed and as i said nearly half the size. copes with incredibly quick double bass drumming. which is all i care about and can handle the nice low notes. at the same time.

Only thing i wanna do next is sort it out so i can play my bass through it for a laugh. know what its like spending money on a system though currently costme £1400 to put mine together and im barely even half done with it. an awful thing care audio can never be truly happy with it although am trying to get a job at my local audio store. pays well and i would get some nice discounts. lol.
