I have just come home to the PreFacelift multipla with its lights on whilst parked (with them off on the stalk) on the drive.

After poking my nose around it looks like a bottle of de-icer in the glovebox above the fuse box may have leaked. I WILL be speaking to the wife about this later.

For now I have pulled the fuses for the lights, but was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else and if so would a can of air be enough to remove the liquid from the fuse box.

It seams to have collected in some of the bigger 'plug' sockets and I can't get ear buds etc in to soak it up!

FFS will the pains of this car ever stop. :bang:

maybe try to dry up with a hair dryer, because i don't think that you can whipe everythink.

The flammable stuff is spirit and I'd have thought that would evaporate very quickly. Best bet, especially now we've got some sunny weather, is to remove the bottom of the cubby, wind down the windows & leave it parked in the sun for a few hours. Finish off with the hair dryer in the bottom of the plugs & sockets. It might even be worth pulling a few of the plugs to see how much liquid is trapped between them. A small (artists) paint brush would probably wick the worst of it out of the recesses for the wires.
