Technical speedo

does anyone know how to disconect the speedo on the cinq? people probably wont approve of this but i have limited mileage insurance and have two very long trips to do this month and i could do without the miles!

i know its normally on the gearbox has anyone done this? if so how easy is it?

and yes i will be able to tell how fast im going i have a rev counter

LOL you tight git, i think its right on the back of the gearbox, a 17mm nut wth the cable going through it, not gospel tho!

il keep my eye out then!

my two long trips has now turned into three but im doubting if my car is up for it! there is a kind of metallic clicking noise coming from the engine at highish revs which is worrying me. it seems to be coming from just in front of the drivers seat probably near the drivebelt. i havent tried listening for it with the bonnet up yet. i might put a new topic up ask if anyone knows what it is. i think il be upgrading my rac cover before i go! [!]
