Hello,

I am the proud new owner of a Ducato mk3.

She unfortunately, makes a warning sound at approx 60mph. I have already researched how to remove this online and have seen so many different opinions and comments. Some mentioning its dealer burnt into ecu and some saying you can adjust it.

I'd like to remove it as it drives me mad.

When I click the mode buttons on the right-hand side of the dash, nothing seems to work. Nor can I find any ref to the speed warning on the toggle switch on the stalk.

Any advise specific to my vehicle would be fantastic please.

Many thanks,
Ollie

Get Multiecuscan, a windows based tool that allow the user to access and edit anything a dealer can, with the right cables. Gendan offer a set with integrity of support. It is quite likely that you cab set this up with that. If not you at least can do all sorts else and it will save you time and money.

What are these buttons for? Are they also disconnected by dealer? They don’t seem to do anything apart from beep when I press them.

The Mode button to the right of the steering wheel enters the settings menus. Options are displayed in the instrument cluster text display and navigated using the up and down buttons. Several settings are only presented when the vehicle is stationary. The speed alarm menu may only be available with the engine running and/ or in motion. You should be able to select the desired speed for the alert or disable it completely.

Thanks for the info. Nothing happens when I press the mode or arrow functions. There is a beep but nothing changes on the digital display.

Is this what happens when the dealer removes the function?

Is anyone in London familiar with the software to remove this locked part of the ecu?

...since the "mode" (settings) button allows the setting/checking of a multitude of items, some of which you definitely wouldn't want inhibiting, it is unlikely that a dealer has removed the overall option to enter settings.

As said above, some settings are available without the engine running, and a more restricted set with it running. (Though the "speed beep" setting is documented as one of those also available with the engine running).

Ignition on/engine not started and a quick press of the "mode" button should display "Menu" at the top of the display, and an up and down arrow inviting you to scroll through the settings options with the scroll/headlight adjust buttons.

NB. whilst a "speed beep" warning is configurable via this method, there is no guarantee that the one you are hearing isn't coming from somewhere else.

Thanks for the info. When I press mode, the digital display doesn’t change. There is only a beep. This is the case whether engine running or not.

The speed beep is audible alongside the digital display referencing “speed” message, so I think it’s safe to say that it is a warning.

I wouldn’t have thought that a dealer would disable the whole mode settings, but it does seem that way right now??!!

Any more comments on this? Would the application mentioned by someone earlier be able to unlock these settings?

Any people on the forum know anyone in London area with this software available?
