Hey all, don't worry it's not another panic thread worrying about being caught.

just wanting to know what the tolerance is on these? i was going 30, 31 at a push though, this is on the sat nav.

saying that, there was a car in front and i slammed on the anchors the moment i seen it, cheers!

If its the one I see regularly I've been past it at an indicated 35....officially you get a N.I.P. at an actual 34 mph. However a N.I.P. that arrives more than 14 days after the date of the offence is time-expired and you can appeal against it.

round (i'm about 5 mins from alex) here ANPR vans are DVLA marked while scam vans have speed kills propaganda all over them.

ANPR vans around Loughborough are usually abandoned in strange places at the side of the road ahead of laybys and look like hired 15 seaters with a pair of cameras on tripods out of the back windows

didnt notice any speed kills sh!t on it, may have been ANPR, it was at rowlands gill just before the park if you know where i mean steven.

reckon 31mph will be okay then? worse comes to worst i'll do one of them gay speed courses

Cant see why you would get a fine for 31mph, I've always thought it was 10% incase your speedo is out.

Although, I guess that doesn't work for motorways, because then you could do 77mph, compared to 3mph over the speed limit.

I would be more concerned that you slammed on the anchors when you were doing 30 / 31mph! Why? Apart from annoying the person behind you....

I presume you checked your mirrors beforehand! :)

The usual tolerance is 10% of the stated limit + 2mph. If they nicked everyone caught doing 31mph and above the Police, The Courts, The DVLA wouldnt be able to cope and the system would go into meltdown.........read this http://www.speed-trap.co.uk/Accused_Home/SpeedVSFines/SpeedVSFines.htm and stop worrying about it.

cheers, i wasn't worrying, was curious.

@ Stu, slamming the anchors on was more a figure of speech, TBH i checked the speedo first then tapped the brake and brought me to crawl past at 20mph.

if they had of hit me they were too close or going to fast.

If it was down the road from tesco in a layby on the left specially built so the van is out of line of sight till the last possible second it will be a cam van...not ANPR usually set up otherside of Winlaton Mill on the way to Swalwell rounderbout near the paint ball place and tennis club. This is a photo of the camera van...the back of it is all reflective orange and yellow chevrons with two windows its only operating if one of them is open (they shoot the laser through it).

yeah thats jus after the care home isn't it, seen it there a few times, always go along at 30mph.. hmm, gues they do work lol.

the one im on about is on the other side of tesco, so you come past it on your right, and it was on the grass to the left, in line with the back of maguires.

Oooh old school they haven't used that one in a about 18 months. Tbf their new tactic is to parralel park in a row of parked cars and shoot the laser out of the roofs. So its nowhere near as obvious seen this in Chopwell, Ryton and some other places.

Took to parking behind the 'Welcome to Checkley' sign or the diversion sign near it to hide all the markings on my daily run, they have stopped doing that since the last one sank in
