General Speed of Pandas

General Speed of Pandas

my sisley has done 110 once and still gets up to 85-90 pretty easy but she drinks petrol at this speed,I have a brand new engine in my garage from an uno which I bought some time ago from a school.I know its not good to do these speeds in a sisley and my mates one which he bought off this site is more suited to this treatment as it lowered, piper cam,k+n,wide alloys, low profiles etc.I have a honda cbr 1000 which goes from 100-160+in seconds and that tends to give me that fix I need once in a blue moon so the poor sisley very rarely gets her engine working over time.

My old Panda...I got over 120 out of it one night. It has a rev counter and would rev to 6500rpm with that cam. So @ 20mph per 1000 rpm 6000 took me to 120. I ran out of road so couldn't get the 130 I was after!

How's it going?

Re: Speed of Pandas poor braking

 Gaz you should not need to pump the brakes to get a hard pedal you have got air in the system and may be leaky cylinder on the rear or poor calliper get them looked at before car fails to stop for you:cry: cheeper to sort out now than later
My brakes are really bad . They really need to be looked at. I have never known them to be this bad before. The car has been standing for a while, so I am hoping them will get better over time. Seems I have to pump the pedal

110mph!!!... in a Sisley?

I put mine in top and floor it on a slight downhill gradient and i can't get it over 77mph.

Thanks Allen, the car is going straight to the mechanics when it gets out of the bodyshop, it does need sorting. I had an Uno wihich had a similer problem, something to do with the master cylinder. Which I don't think the sisley has.

yeah, it's got a master cylinder...

Fastest i've been is 90 but that was just to see what it was like and it wasn't too comfortable so i'll be sticking to a max of 70 from now on

Pandora has topped out at a similar speed, but prefers to cruise at a the more sedate speed of 70mph...

Why knock the hell out of a panda ,they were not built to be rocketed up and down the motorway or am I to old fashioned. I'v a V6 2.5 Vectra 24valve that will and has done 145mph+ on the German Autoban, that car is built and shaped for speed(y) The panda is not so treat them with respect:worship: remember you still have to stop them and the braking system is not the best in the world(n)

Pandas are pretty much unbeatable when you're darting round networks of back streets. The visibility, close gearing and compact size I often don't appreciate, but they all come in massive use whenever I drive the car it seems.

I agree. More or less what I was thinking when I was looking at that green Panda for sale on ebay at the minute. The seller makes a big point of how it stays at just under 100 over long distances on the motorway:eek: That would not make me want to buy it. Sorry if it's anyone on here;)

It's ok I couldn't resist :)

Cant be to careful with big scary policeman ;) You might squish me.

Its not me but I do that to. Why? It amuses me to see the underdog thrash people, and i hate to see old cars driven as if there were old grannies at the wheel.
