I'm looking at upgrading the speakers in the 156 and I can put in 6.5" all round. I'm gonna put components in the front but not too sure about the back, it's between 2ways and 3ways (as I don't want to be making tweeter pods)...what's the difference?

Find an Alfa 156 with the BOSE system. My brothers 03 156 2.4 JTD has it and it does sound good. Believe it or not it has a amp and a sub woofer hidden under the parcel shelf under the rear window. Not visible from the boot either.

That could be a long and expensive search Joske...I'm only planning on having this car for about 18 month, I'm not really feeling confident about taking this car apart for an install, I dread to think about running power cables :(

I was looking at a thread on alfa owner earlier and there was a dude in NZ who put 2 amps under the parcel shelf an one behind the seats...very impressive stuff.

yeah, I understand that but I'm thinking is do 3 ways cover the range better or do they just have an extra tweeter?

No, a 3 way setup will have a dedicated mid. They both have only 1 tweeter per side.

Matt dude, put some decent comps in the front and coaxials in the rear. you only need the rears to 'fill in' as its often described. your ears will be listening to the front comps.
