Speaker problem

I recently installed some JBL comps which run off the HU. They worked fine for the 1st week but then i went away for a week and when i came back there was a problem.

Above a certain volume ALL speakers (6X9's too) make a loud crackling sound-this doesnt seem to get progressively worse-its either there or it isnt!

However, if i turn the fader to full front i can turn the comps up loud and no problem. This doesnt seem to be the case vice versa tho!

Any ideas wot the problem could be??

interference of some kind? rewire it again

Either your HU is faulty or the one of the power/earth wires to it is loose.

Where does the earth wire go from the HU?

Ill check the wiring is ok, but am i rite in thinking that it's more likely to be a HU prob as all speakers seem to b affected?
