Hi, i just bought some alpine front speakers for my punto

rather than just wrapping the speaker wire round, i thought i would do it properly, so i am gunna use spade connectors.

can someone tell me where to get them from, the ones you crimp onto the wire. there are 2 separate sizes one for positive and negative, but i am not sure how big each is.

the other thing is that altohugh my speakers are coaxials, is it still just a case of cutting the plastic block off and plugging in my new speakers?

how will this affect the already installed factory tweeter?

cheers peeps

B&Q wont sell car audio connectors, only home ones. These are about 2mm wider! That means they are a less secure connection. Your better off going to halfrauds and getting them as they will be gold p-lated unlike the crap from Homebase, b&q... (y)

WTF am i sticking up for halfruads for, what is the world coming to.

sorry dude but i got to disagree, the ones i got from b&q were gold plated and a tight fit and are cheaper than the halfrauds sell!

im gonna throw wind to caution (or wind to caution  )and say neither ;)

Maplins is the way to go... Or hobbyist electronics places. I can personally vouch for maplins as they stock pretty much every size and type of connector, and cheap too... Their terminals are quite good and cheap too - i got a set of 4 guage ringlets for me to ground my amps with, were a quid each. in halfrauds they were 5 quid for 2!!! I also broke 2 sets of crimpers on the halfrauds ones whereas the maplins ones crimped lovely (y)

http://www.maplin.co.uk You know it makes sense ;)
