speaker advice/problems

So, not knowing anything about speakers at all, i decided to install some new front speakers after my friends decided it would be fun to 'blow' the standard ones... i had some jbl g something or other lieing around and decided to install them

everything is great except on tracks with alot of bass, it sort of cuts out for half a second, i thought it was my phone as i usually listen to that through the aux cable, but i ripped it to a cd and tried that both in wav format and mp3 and it still cuts out.

could the problem be that im useing the stock head unit? as in it somehow doesnt have enough power to power the speakers?

How have you connected the New speakers? It sounds a little like you have a short when the bass frequencies produce enough current for it to show its self.

I followed the guide on here, attached some new speaker wire and connectors and wired it all up.
