Finally a layer of Dynamat on the bonnet....

Then with a handy off cut of Dynamat Hoodliner (the standard bonnet liner hides this)....

Pretty much ever panel on the car is dead now and the external noise level whilst driving has been reduced massively (y)

Nice one thats going to be one quiet car (y) I like to here a bit of the engine/exhaust in my car though so i dont think i will go to those extremes. Does it all make any audible difference to the SQ of your system?
Do you know the cost of materials that you have spent on deadening so far?

Nice job Paul, it really is suprising what a couple of hundred quid can do to reduce the amount of road noise and rattles (y)

Although not pictured, there's also Dynaliner in the outer door skins plus I had more Dynamat/liner applied to the door cards and overall has given a nice improvement of the midbass. You should feel the weight of the door cards now!

The roof and rear doors will also help as really you have to reduce panel flex in the cabin as a whole.

As for material cost it's probably in the region of £600.

I did wonder that, its alot of money for moderate gains.

BUT

I know if i was doing a really good install, as i hope to do in my next car, an install is only as good as the base its built on, or in this case into.

Looks like you doing a good job of it (y) no point doing a job half-assed :)

What does that actually involve?

Well the one that i have should be simple :bang: Just unscrew the ring surround (10 bolts) then unscrew sub from enclosure (just getting a 4.5 stone sub out of a box is difficult enough) Unscrew the sub from the spider, then turn around and use special tool with a wrench to unscrew the pole underneath. All with absolutely no instructions or prior knowledge (n). After that i would have asumed that the cone/coil would just easily lift out but computer says nooo  Given up and waiting for an answer from somebody who knows how to do it.

You say that, but the car becomes a much nicer place to sit for long journeys when the ambient road noise is reduced! Also, very little ouside noise to interfere with the quiet passages in music. (y)

I compete with the car in sound quality competitions.

Next year I have all intentions of winning my class and competing in the European finals.

I was going to try and get to a couple by the summer street C i was aiming for i think 129.9 - 130.9 but i really dont see that happening now i have had so many set backs in the last month with this damn sub  I havnt even started the build properly ATM i hav a Gangsta install that dont work its a fing mess.
