hi all

i'm changing the audio system in the ignis again, and i'm finally going back to using a headunit.

problem is the ignis has a double din slot and an stupid cubby hole bit to put in the second half, what i want is something a bit more useful, ideally a small CD storage unit that could hold 4 or 5 CD's

anyone seen anything like this? or anything ueful for the second slot?

Ive not seen any thing like a cd storage unit like that, but have you considered getting an equaliser like the one in the link below.
It will fit in a single DIN slot and would look cool [8D]

well considering in the last 6months i've gone from a MP3 headunit, to a 2.5Ghz PC with 7inch touchscreen inc DVD and Satnav, to running the whole thing from a portable mp3 player, i'll be happy just to be back to a headunit. no need for DVD, and i already have nice cup holders

the rest of the dash is black, so i don't mind how well it goes with the headunit.

is the pic from a specific brand of car, its possible its a standard part that can be bought from a dealer.....

we sell those DIN sized cd holders. very 80's. dealers sell DIN sized storage pockets. especially toyota dealers! 'cept we're in Ireland!

80's!?!?! how mean! I think they are a good idea. To be pedantic, CD's weren't available in the 80s anyway so this is "so 90s".

er... car CD players are around since 1984. those cd holders in your picture are derived directly from the casette holders commonly found in Vauxhall Caveliers during the 80s

But i think you will agree that CD players weren't exactly "normal" features in cars until the early 90's. I do apologise, I thought it was introduced in '89, but it was '82.
