Thanks for the message Kev, I was in't pub so just got back to have a look at the advert now. Definitely a resto car, but whether it goes to someone that will do that is a different matter. If I had more parking space I would buy it to save for someone to take on in the future. Also it would have to get all the way up to Gloucestershire for me as I am sure my family would not appreciate that being dumped on their driveway for an undisclosed amount of time
Shame, if I hadn't rescued this panda 45 it would be a no brainer. But to anyone thinking of buying it, I think you wouldn't make a loss on this for the asking price of £500. Road worthy 4x4 would go for £800 nowadays and that could probably be achieved with some temp patch welding and a full service/mot.
Hope it gets rescued anyway. I can't take them all on though; I'm already hoarding 2 of the 20-30 (if that) odd mk1 4x4's remaining!

Well £500 for a 4x4 is cheap to me let alone for a mk1 and we know it!, somebody here better grab it before it gets broken and weighed in.
There's a lot of talk about saving cars on here, well it's time for the money to be put up or people to shut up about good cars being broken.
This is exactly how it happens, cars are passed over and then the crying starts when it appears on ebay in bits.
Bottom line is if you have the money you could find a way around the other obstacles.
I'd be willing to put £50 in the pot for a forum buy.
I would if I had a wage coming in I'd buy the blessed thing myself.
