Well, I've decided I hate and love the car in equal measure.

Great engine, not fast but plenty nippy and willing. Handy round the town, and quite good on petrol.

Appalling ride and road noise on rough surfaced tarmac, which there seems to be a lot of round here annoyingly.

I think I may try a set of new rear dampers on it, it seems to spend all its time bouncing between the front and rear axle even on smooth roads.

But I came across a set of longitudinal roof rails at a good price, and since I think they look better with them, I've bought them. So I must like it after all.

Next job - lying underneath bridging the exhaust flexi.

what tyre have you got on it. Are they noisy tyres ! It's never as quite as say a A Class, but you will notice a difference if you if you fit tyres 2 decibels' less

will depend on size and model of tyre not just make
but something like Davanti DX390 165/60 R14 75 H will be about as good as you can get
winter version will be more noisy.

when you diagnose and fix the loud knocking at the rear on another thread

the bouncing will probably be fixed also

on light fuel load, no rear passengers, and too much air in the rear it will feel more bouncy.

Suspension dampers are consumable items. They wear out.

Shot rear dampers ruin the ride and handling of any car. Panda 169 with it's hard springs and short wheelbase is even more prone to the issue.
