General Snow flake symbol

This may sound stupid, but I have a 07 punto and on the centre console there is a snow flake symbol, is it something to do with AC?

That button makes it snow. at least that's how i use it.

Rather than drawing in fresh air from outside, the air in the vehicle cabin is recycled.

It's the Cabin Hurricane button. Makes so much noise when pressed!

You've probably worked this out for yourself, but if you re-circulate the air on a damp day or wearing damp clothes.....or, er when breathing on a cold day, the windows will fog up.

Then you end up turning the A/C on to clear the windows which are trying to mist up due to the air being re-circulated and so on. We have a Zafira at work that clears all the windows quickly but if you turn it off the 'screen mists up again.

Haven't seen a car that doesn't fog up the windows when recirculation button was pressed.

Yep, hot air. But the AC helps too and makes the mist leave quicker. I'd been driving for years before someone told me this

Air Conditioning contributes to dehydration of the air.

Full heat plus AC for some time = the best way to de-mist windows etc.
AC enabled for 10 sec are enough to de-mist windows but if you switch it off right away mist will come back. Let it dehydrate all the air and then use only the heater

I always use aircon all the time, the benefits out weigh the drawbacks (except when the roofs down). You use more petrol with the windows open than air con running and the compressor seals don't dry out. Not running the aircon is a false economy.

Apparently, yeah. I have climate control and when I press the clear window button it turns on the AC to full. :shrug:
