Hello All,
Am new here, I bought used Grande punto 2009 petrol model. I get intermittent immobilizer symbol (padlock) and for last three days am even unable start my car.. tere is no crank.. pls any help... My cars central locking also somtimes automatically startr working and sometimes automatically goes off.... Airbag failure and boot open message is always there... Any help pls

Have an auto-electrician come to the car and make you a new key.

Possibly the accident caused the other car problems you've mentioned. Its difficult to say.

Thanks Anthony for replying,... I showed many mechanics but evryone is telling different storys.. some say key faul, some says body computer fauly some says immobilizer faulty... What to do

Would like to add more... After changing gearbox car was good to drive... I was using it even after the immo symbol intermittent... It goes off after several times I turn key off and on and car starts and run smoothly... But for last 3 days I can't start the car.. there is no cranck

Try disconnecting the battery connect the positive and negative wires from car! Not battery! With wire or jump lead This will discharge the charge in car circuit will or should reset the ecu when battery reconnected also check remote fob battery reconnect battery hopefully it will start

The symptoms you describe say the key is faulty. They are known to fail with age. If that doesn't fix the problem you'd try something else but I'm 99% sure you need a new key.

I don't think the key is culprit... Because mechanic did something to like strocking the starter motor and it started.... I drove 2 days smoothly ( approx 360km) and today problem of no cranck started again

To progress you need to answer the question...When the padlock is off the car starts, and when the padlock is on the car won't start. Is this the case?

Yess for 3 days before... Now it don't start at all

It starts after pushing the car if there is no padlock symbol

This means the problem is the key. Replace your key.

Your car has other problems, but deal with those after the key.

But car should crank even if there is padlock symbol.... Isentit?
