Technical Smokey M-jet

My gp 1.9 m jet seems pretty smokey today and the throttle isn't as responsive as normal, could it be the egr?

Highly likely its the EGR, my mondeo is exactly the same when the EGR is due a clean

I suspected it would be, the car hasn't been driven much for the last few months, only idling. So it could be fouled up, I will whip it off an a look! Cheers

*Update*

Egr is pretty clean and boost pressure sensor is clean. Car is still smoking, seems to be blue/white smoke. It's having a service on Saturday but does anyone have any ideas?

Well when I was running it at weekend, it smells of diesel I would say.

Do you do a lot of stop/go driving? Might be a dpf issue

Could be a split boost hose leading to an over-rich mixture and hence the smoke. Its a common problem.

Mine hasn't got a dpf, and it hasn't been driven more than about 30 miles in the last 6 months! So a good run could help I think...,

Just kidding but it really probably needs a good run.

I don't think a split boost hose will cause an over-rich mixture. The O2 sensor will detect it and compensate with less fuel. You will lose power but I doubt the rich-mixture theory.

Haha yeah it will be hitting the road soon! The oil change and service may help and then I will take it for a good run
