Hello. This was probably discussed way too much, as this is another oil question.
I own a Grande Punto T-Jet (120 hp) with 152.300 Km's on the odometer, and some mods (VL36 turbo, bigger FMIC, Abarth camshafts). I know that the handbook says that this engine uses 5W40 ACEA C3 specification oil. However I have some questions regarding this.
My engine currently runs on Eneos X-Prime 0W50 API SN specification, so:
Is running non C3 specification oil (such as ACEA A3/B4, higher SAPS oil) affecting the catalytic converter, as in, clogging it? There aren't many 50 grade oils that have ACEA C3 specification, many of them are A3/B4.
I think there is Petronas Selenia 10W50, Motul 10W50 and Igol 10W50, all having the Abarth 0101 specification. Where I live, the winters are quite cold, so I'm not really keen on using 10W grade as i think it would be too thick at the cold start.
The only oil that I think could be the best of both worlds, would be Rowe 5W50 ACEA C3, does anyone have experience with this oil brand?
