There's a separate charge controller for the solar panels . will stick the meter on tomorrow and see . thanks for all your help
 
Battery in an fitted , put a meter across and it's showing 14.5v which might be a little high . Need to take it for a run at the weekend and then test it again

14.5v may be ok, see if it settles down a bit after a run, check voltage difference with all 12v vehicle consumers on too, see if there's much of a difference. If you get a chance before you go, pls post back. Batteries in engine compartment will naturally warm to the touch due to temp of their surroundings, but if you need to eliminate that, let it run with the bonnet open, and feel the batt casing after maybe 10 mins. Assuming batt is in there and not, say, under the seats or somewhere else. Have a good trip!!
