Until: Sunday, December 8, 2013 - 03:00 AM
(Adjusted for timezone: Europe/London)

Upcoming dates
All times have been adjusted for the timezone: Europe/London

This event has expired and has no upcoming dates
I was brought up (sometime in the Neolithic, possibly...) to believe that the coming weekend was "this" weekend, and the following weekend was "next". This also applies/d to days: i.e. tomorrow is "this Friday"; and the day two days before Super Sausage Day is "next Friday". However, on reflection, this makes very little sense -- but I do understand where Sweex was coming from....

I'll get my coat.... :(

I'm of this logic too! I find at work that people from Coventry and Nuneaton think this way and the people from Leamington and Warwick think the other way.

That's because we're of good working stock; and the peeps of LS and Histowick Wowick think they're superior...! ;)

We had a police driving instructor and examiner (who is also an IAM examiner) come and talk to us at our IAM advanced driving classroom session, last night. He told us that they would often tell new police drivers to "take the next available right" just before a road with a no entry sign.

I'm sure thats what satnav told this idiot.

Thanks to this plonker they're now put a stupid one way system in to stop the same from happening again :bang:

Get another one and I'll make it 20 :p

it's open to all ,

so if the Abarth 500 / 595..?? comes will that be the FIRST non-Fiat at a MI meet..??

I only got to Coventry ( inaugural meet) and the Prodrive visit ,

not sure who drove what at the last one..??,

I know Zed(?) at the 1st meet own's a classic Lancia.. BUT he came with Adam in a 100HP - panda,

UPDATE:

O.k.
with only the 1 weekend now between us and a M.I. meet,
I'm about ready to start a new thread for the actual day's event itself..,

Arrival at the SupersSausage Cafe @ 10:30,

chat/ eat / pics, etc until 12'ish,
drive on through back lanes ( Stowe - Rear of circuit) more pics..,

arrive at silverstone circuit @ 13:00,
park at visitor centre,
see what's happening around us ,
chat / thaw out ?

plenty of space / parking for more pics ( I know some of you actually know which end of a camera does what) ; - }

then make a move later in the afternoon to finish off the day,

I'm planning to convoy with @ 4 others to M40 Cherwell Valley services via A34 Oxford - Peartree,

I know some are planning routes down from A1 / M1,

and others from M40 / South West.

it'll be great to catch-up with you all , lets pray for a day of winter sunshine..!!,

Charlie

sounds perfect !,
I actually got to speak to a Person at Silverstone on the phone,
they "open" the visitor centre depending on "demand"..,
it was locked shut alst weekend,
however they think they have a busy weekend when we plan to visit ..so should be a fun day..!!,

as an aside.. parking at Cherwell Valley services is pretty chaotic in my experience ;'{

would it be a better plan for the M40 contingent to meet there 10 mins early.. then converge on the Esso garage on the next A43 roundabout..?? at the allotted time,
only @ 15 mins to the Cafe from there,

Charlie

It's been fine on recent Sunday mornings... -- especially since they rebuilt it, and enlarged the car park.... -- and should be relatively quiet, at this time of year.... :chin:

I shall aim to get there before 10:00, and park as near to the entrance of the services building (near the pasty stand -- if it's still there) as I can (although there are some disabled parking spaces directly outside... -- and I only have one Blue Badge...!). I'll be in a filthy, dark red metallic Punto Mk2, with white FIAT Forum stickers in the front and back windows...!

Is this okay...? I'm just worried that all 20 of us may end up at the Esso garage...!

I am coming but will probably skip the Silverstone bit.

all fine..,:)

it's an excuse to get out in your FIAT with other like-minded people, ;)

If you can't commit too much time, that's why I've given a rough time of where we'll be + when,

so if you've got a "window" for a couple of hours - you'll still be able to find us,
and be most welcome :D

Charlie

Might be stupid question what were gonna do at Silverstone?

Sit,
chat,
take pics,
gawp at what else is going on.., :D

as I said I went over last weekend,
there were Westfield/Caterham/Lotus 7 type open seaters doing "fast-laps" of the neighbouring car park, ( lots of squealling tyres )

a "Hot-hatch" type group further along,
and an F1 test session on the main Circuit,:slayer:
plenty to keep us entertained for an hour or 2, (y)

no entry fee is envisaged - as it's their visitor centre / car parks,
on the side of the main entry road ,

I hope that helps,
Charlie
