shuddering like an earthquake....help!!

my 2001 80sx has started shuddering real
bad when i set off in 1st gear, so bad the
engine feels like its gonna rip itself out.
It is worse when in heavy traffic, crawling along.
Also when i change into 2nd it kinda thuds or snatches.
Can anyone shed some light on what this could
be, any advise would be a bonus, as you can safely say i aint no mechanic!!!

i had earlier posted a something about this and was told it is a coomon fault and is due to the cold weather taking effect on the car.

it is the electric choke.....
try releasing the clutch a little slower and accelerating a little slower

like Lozz told me 'i'm growchy on a morning too'

you should find once the engine is hot...... or hotter then it should be okay and once this harsh cold weather goes i hope its better

then again if it's not this i dunno what it could be but mines fine now...

when where the plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel and air filter changed ??

it is ok when cold, but really bad when crawling doing stop start, stop, start in traffic.I either have to rev it hard, or be oh so gentle, its doing my head in.
Could it be the clutch??

had a full fiat service last october,
i hope they would have changed them then?
cambelt changed last week, but this was starting to happen b4 that.
car has done 39k

I just checked the reciept from fiat they dont mention any plug change!!

If they didnt change the spark plugs, they can be the problem

this sound like the first problem i had with my 2001 sx, turned out to be the lathe gear (Spelling?) if it this you will be looking @ a big bill anywhere from 250-350 from a small garage hope it turnes out okay for you and not to costley

its a common fault on the 1.2 box fella.

I think andy used to get this too like I did.

its either clutch/gb fault as mine still did it after a full service.

I'm living with it.

if its the same sort of shuddering that I've been getting it feels like the clutch is slipping.

I live with it as it will only happen on the odd occassion.
