Hi can anyone help me? i have a shaking rear view mirror...does anyone know how to fix it? Cheers :)

Assuming it's fixed securely to the windscreen, it's usually the ball joint at the back of the mirror that works loose, and develops a small amount of play. I had that on mine, but the mirror didn't vibrate.
I'd be inclined to try the low-tech route first. Adjust the mirror to where you want it, then wedge some blu-tack around the ball joint to stop it moving. :p

i've had similar problems in the past. it stiffens up (oo er) if you cover the ball joint in talc (baby powder) and then work it around till it gets some talc into the joint.

Shamlessly stolen from someone else....

to all of you with a loose & shaky rear view mirror.
ive solved the problem with mine.
removed roof light. (just prises out).
removed mirror assembly. (2x allen bolts)
onCe removed, you Can see 1x 7mm nut, that holds the mirror to the alluminium braCket.
mine was loose Causing the shaking.
tightened nut, and hey presto, its now as good as new.

thank you, it worked!!

Tightening the nut works as it should but the screw is poor quality and you may find it works lose very quickly, even when readjusting!

A little glue or screwlock on the thread will stop this. Leave it to set overnight before refitting and adjusting. Not too much though in case you need to take it apart again.
