Hi got a semi auto dual logic 59 punto, it won't go into any gear or reverse!! Garage talking about pump and £1800 bill to sort it, it's only done 57,000 and this bill would write the car off, could it be anything less costly? Thanks for any advice

certainly..:)

but need more info,
has the fluid been topped , and bled,
does the pump run ok when you open the drivers door, etc.

Thanks for the reply, as for the fluid I presume that's checked and dealt with at the service, personally I wouldn't have a clue how to check or bleed I'm afraid, as for the pump running ok when the drivers door is opened, that's the noise can be heard when getting in the car? A wiring sound for a second or two, will check it's still happening and get back to you, thanks

Hi there. when the car has been locked for a while and I unlock and open the door I hear a noise as though something is starting up. I f then close the door and open it straight away the noise doesn't happen a second time. The engine will turn on fine but when I put it into gear the car starts beeping. A red flashing light comes on under the speedo at the right hand side of the circle but I cant find a reference to it anywhere in the hand book. Also where the clock is the words "CHECK TRANSMISSION SEE HANDBOOK" come up. But the handbook says nothing about this and nothing about semi/auto dual logic transmissions. Its almost as though its a book for a different car. Does any of this shed any light on the problem? Car still just says is in neutral at all times
Kind Regards Jim

Thanks for that Charlie. Is that gonna be a costly job? Am I better using a fiat garage for a job like that?
Kind regards

That rac report tells you very little as far as I can see, how handy are you with tools? Where are you based?

its basically a lot of sensors not "talking" to each other,,
so either a porr wiring connection , or limited electrical power,

the basics would be get the faults CLEARED..if possible - then see what returns quickly.

could be a dodgy connection / loose wire,
broken part..
or maybe just a poor car battery dropping too low in power on cold frosty starts..

where are you / the car based..??

Hi there!

Did you manage to get this sorted or work out what is was as i am having this exact same problem right now! My mechanic isn't sure what it is as he hasn't had this problem occur before.

Thanks in advance :)
