So there it is. Trust my car to be a maverick. As the only actuator for this is the microswitch on the gear lever, I'm guessing that is the first port of call. It does eventually drop in to neutral after several attempts and this seems to be linked to the traffic lights turning green again but maybe thats just me…;)

So my question is, has anyone changed the switch on the gear lever and is it an easy DIY task?

I've not attempted the change myself as I've never owned a sillyspeed.

A member did post recently that they experienced issues with selecting 1st (from neutral) so they couldn't drive the car - having bought it as spares or repairs for this fault I seem to recall.

When they took the selector off they found the bottom tip of the selector had broken off so that it was never making contact with the micro switches to make the selection. I think the repair was to wind a screw into the bottom of the selector shaft and with a bit of filing and profiling of the screw head they got it to work perfectly for the cost of a bit of elbow grease and a screw.

Definitely a doable DIY though.
