Let's keep this in some kind of perspective.

The Winter Tyres thing is a fairly recent fashion trend in most of the UK. I'd not heard about them (snow tyres for the Turini in winter apart) much until the Poles and Czechs started to ramble on and on...........

Of course, the temperature thing is important. In sunny Liverpool, however, I've been quite happily running "summer" tyres (I like Rainsports, BWTH) throughout the Winter.

Ice apart, I've never found that my bikes needed winter tyres, either (and do Winter tyres work on ice?)

My guess is that unless you live on a hill, north of Glasgow or in the East (Norfolk, Lincolnshire, etc.) you'll do quite well without.

Hello guys! I have a problem. I can't find any winter tyres for my 2001 1.1 SPI Seicento. I have the original Abarth 14" wheels with 175/50/14 summer Pirelli tyres.
Now, the question is, 175/65/14 tyres will fit on my 14" abarth wheels without touching or any other inconvenient?

If someone knows, any answer it's apreciated. Thanks!

You're not the first person to mention problems getting 175/50/14 winter tyres in Romania.

Might be worth following their suggestion & getting some cheap 13" or 14" (steel?) wheels with the best winter tyres you can afford. As Eklipze mentioned if you change the circumference too much it will throw out your speedo & gearing, these will help you work out what size wheel & tyre to buy

Thank you!

The thing is i have a second set of abarth 14" wheels, and i am looking for a solution to fit some winter tyres on those.

Everything is stock. I found a 13" steel set equipped with 155/70/13 tyres. I think i will buy it.
