hi there im not new just been a visitor for a while now a member!
Anyway i have a sei sporting spi 1999, now this is how it goes it has been not driven for 6 months until tuesday and when i first drove it after front ender:bang: i thought holy cr*p this is slow topped her up with petrol and its a bit better but she idles lumpy shudders when changing down gears and is hesitant till 3k rpm then its like a surge gives me whip lash then settles down again. ive done 50 miles since booting it and revving it to decoke the engine but to no avail, the funny thing was i tried to keep up with my mates 1.0 uno 45 and he blitzed me! anyway i know you guys are fiat gods so can you help me please?

thanks for replying this late(y) yeh i was thinking lambda aswell because in 50 miles ive done half a tank! how much will it cost at a fiat garage as theres one 10 mins away?

When i say independent i didnt mean independent fiat dealer, i meant some random garage.

Providing they have the equipment any garage should do it, no harm in asking round your local garages

sorry i havent replyed, regarding fuel i only stuck a fiver in to get it to the garage cos it was empty, as soon as i got it back i filled her up to the brim. anyway thanks for the advice took her down kent this weekend and boy she went soooo quick, and on a private flat road;) she hit 110 before redline so i was well impressed (gps confirmed) so alls well now and probs have gone away! now if the FAQ only had piccies of a 1242 spi being fitted in a sei id try to atttemp that!

Have you any mods to that engine cos 110 wont occur in a standard 1108cc engine, more likely to be closer to 90+ The top official speed is 93mph no mods i think 110 is very doubtful even if your gps says so and with mods. I think your speedo is way out

He might not be talking too many porkies because I have seen 110 many a time and even 116 on an extreme occasion, regardless of what it was actually doing this was the read out.

I had my first experience of Sat Nav at the weekend and it was 2 to 3mph out at most.

Possibly, its a grey area the speedo and GPS. I would have expected it not to be as responsive seen as it was only used for the first time in 6 months last week, although well done fiat for a good engine design if it can be that good after 6 months of standing :)

What sat nav off topic by the way

I can imagine 116 is perfectly possible. Me and a random SPI were leathering it up a certain private road that looks a lot like that wide one that runs between London and Leeds after Brooklands last year and I had a friends road angel unit on, which i'm assured by a road traffic copper i know, is absolutely spot on to about 2-3mph and the Sei was doing 118mph on the flat. It was slightly faster by about 2mph that the SPi too which surprised me condiering I have an airfilter and performance exhaust as that usually takes a bit off the top end and on to the torque figures.

EDIT: That was when I had an 1108

it was my cousins navman something? anyway yeh it read a 112 on the speedo according to my cus who had to look cos i had to concentrate so hard because of high cross winds.
