Seeing in the dark - I hate carrots

I really would like to do a HID conversion with Marea headlights but I just dont think I can afford it. Has anyone got any recomendations for bulbs as the standard ones are really poor!

HELP ME TO SEE IN THE DARK WITHOUT HAVING TO EAT MORE CARROTS!
