Anyone had to get one of these changed? I suspect we have one going on the front nearside - Making a droneing noise over 40 mph?
Any idea where to source a kit from or price?

Hi, What mileage have you done? Fiat wheel bearings usually very long lasting so these may be suzuki bearings. Suzuki dealer likely to be cheaper than Fiat but your local motor factor is probably the best bet....

Its done 59k now Tim which is probably quite high for a 4 year old Sedici.
I'm guessing they may take more of a bashing given the 4WD.
I know my Pads and discs are low and am replacing these within the next 2 weeks but theres enough pad for it not to be a backing plate rubbing away at the disc. I can feel the slight vibration through the steering wheel as it starts to whine too.

Have found a Suzuki SX4 bearing for a tenner? Think it'll be the same part?

Good old Ebay Tim - Attempt to fit on Tuesday so wil let you know - looks like the identical part on eper.

Turns out its a rear bearing and these are only available in a complete Hub assembly - £250 from Fiat?!!!!! Think the SX4 rear will be the same Tim?! (PS anyone need a front I have one!)

sorry for late reply; probably is the same as the suzuki as both cars are made in the same factory but suspect the high cost may be something to do with the 4w drive; I have an electronic workshop manual and will try and find some pix.....

Hi Tim - OK Update. I have managed to source a brand new Half-the-price brand new Fiat Part boxed Rear bearing thanks to a Wanted Ad on Here!!! (What a forum!!)
If you have the workshop manual any pics to show how to fit would be appreciated!!
The bearing is contained within the hub on the rears so does appear to be a relatively simple bolt-off/on component?

Managed to get the elearn program to work at last; its clunky and difficult to use; changing the rear hub looks easier than using the program; will try and post some pix but the system looks very similar to the old VW camper rear hub unit and replacement should be straightforward.....

looking at pix the main problem is going to be undoing the hub nut as the axle itself is free to turn; the manual indicates a special tool for this; you could keep the wheel on the ground with the handbrake on but I think the alloy wheels cover up the nut; the steel wheels (and presumably the spare) do not; you also have to remove the drive shaft.............

Thanks for the help Tim but it does not let me view anything:

To update guys my local Italian specialist (MotorMech in Birmingham - reccomended!!)
gave it a service and charged me peanuts to change the bearing - all is well (y)
Cannot believe how quiet it now is - kinda got used to it!

Sorry this is not about the problem byt where did you get the manual?

I've just started getting a wheel bearing noise on the offside front when steering left at medium speed.

Got it looked at by my local garage. He said it's most likely the bearing in it's early stage of breaking. So i'll get it replaced in the next week or two. Will let you know how it goes with costs etc.

Mine's on just over 91,000 miles now so not hard to believe the wheels are about to fall off, especially with my 'brioso' driving.

Other thing to bear in mind is that this car shares a lot of parts with the Suzuki Swift, so it's not beyond the wildest imagination to thing that they used the same wheel bearings for the Sedici and SX4 as they did for that. Problem is, a Swift is a much lighter car with less power so there'll be extra strain going through the part.

So there's me and Nello. Anyone else had these problems?

cmm - did you get the front bearing done? I bought one when my rear failed as I initially thought it was from the front... Happy to send on for free if you still need it?
The front bearing is available separately so pretty cheap - I think its from the Suzuki Ignis. Our car is 80k + now so don't think its unreasonable to fail over that mileage...

Hiya, sorry for the delay. Thanks for the offer, very kind. Got it done locally in the end. Wasn't too expensive but had a week of faffing around.

Got the bearing replaced but then the ABS light came on which meant the ABS sensor had been damaged. Took it back to the garage and they replaced the sensor. This didn't fix the problem and to add to it the 4x4 light started blinking.

Through a bit of diagnostics we worked out the replacement bearing was faulty. Got it replaced again and now all is well.

Mine's on over 92,000 now so like you said, don't think it's unreasonable to have failed.

Had a look at the original bearing. It wasn't bad but it had started to lose it's grease so was on it's way out.

p.s. cleaned and polished the car the other day. It's almost 6 years old and still looks new with a bit of TLC. Very impressed with the paintwork.
