Hi everybody
I'm new to this group as I have just purchased a sedici 4x4 diesel 2006 with 35000 on the clock.
I have a list of problems that I need to put right. I have spent 10 years as a car mechanic, so I.m not tottaly stupid when it comes to cars.
So here is my list of problems/questions.
1. I'm getting like a misfire/hesitation at around 1800/2000 rpm, it disaperars if you floor it. EGR valve maybe?
Is it a good idea to blank it off? do you need to get the ECU to forget it there to stop showing fault codes? And will this mess with the DPF
2.In reverse and on light throttle the engine seems harsh as though an engine mount is worn out or the engine is making contact with the body or chassis.
Worse in cold weather! Is this normal? if so I can live with that.
3.Cold starting isn't great! Does the EGR valve effect this?
Its not to bad at the moment but my problem being I have taken the car to the French alps to spend the rest of its life. Winter time can mean -30.
The 4x4 will be put to the test!
4. Has anyone remapped there Sedici?
I have a Transit van that I had remapped by Martyn at Vantuner.com.
It worked a treat and I get loads more MPG.
He can sell me a fault code reader for the Sedici that I can also have 2 remaps on. One for power and one for economy. I can then switch between the 2.
Ant thoughts?
5. removing the DPF! Any thoughts
Thanks in advance for any help. Even though it has its issues its a great little car. I'm really looking forward to trying it out in the snow. I just need to purchase a 2nd set of wheels for its snow tyres.
