Second key - prices and where?

Hi guys,

Bought my new bravo, sadly it only comes with 1 key.

Can you tell me where I can get a second one done in the Stoke on Trent area, and an ideal price to pay.

what year bravo? the old style 3 door ones you can get a spare key at any good key cutters.

Sorry, it's a 2010 bravo.

fiat dealer and a very few specialist locksmiths then,

ring last keeper too they may have the spare still.

Easiest and best way would be main dealer if previous owner doesn't come up with the key.

None remote key is about £140 all in, remote around £200

Programed means it's programed to start the car.
It will start the car.

How about if I was to buy a key to a bravo being broken on eBay. Would this be a lot cheaper to then get programmed, as opposed to buying one from fiat to be programmed?

It wouldn't work as the key blade is completely different from car to car.

no !,
it has to be programmed to YOUR CAR..!!

your cars ECU will look for the correct signal from YOUR CAR's KEY,
with a different key it won't recognise the chip signal.

so it will remain immobilised..,

not a solution to getting a 2nd key but some fobs (Mk1 punto as an example) allow you to take out the code transponder "pill" from your old key and you can fit that into a newly cut key. or you can buy an old key from a scrap yard or ebay, swap the button half of it over on remote central locking keys (if the raised button part is worn down to nothing say) and is hard to get to work. unclip the worn half from the main key/battery side and press the new half (with the better button) onto it. a simple key refurb

yes, that's the way I've gone with my sons cars..,
BUT as I said before you need a modern locksmith with the automated key mill,
AND a box to code the 2 x keys to the cars ECU,
so just buying a used key is still only £8 out of an £80 job,

well worth it though if the local main dealer wants £200..!!
