Sealants

I want to buy a clay and have looked around and it looks like bilt hamber soft is the one to go for, but i don't know which sealant is the best for the money, can someone help me

for the money, id go for collinite 915 or 476s. extremely good durability (will last up to 6 months).

FK1000P is supposed to be good and is a sealant if that is what your looking for.

yeah it is, it also has fillers and oils in to mask light swirl marks.

only problem with it is that it doesnt bead! sheets water well though...

So over all would you go for collinite with the FK1000... or
BiltHamber and AutoBalm ?

Fk1000 is made by Finish Kare not colly...personally i would use Autobalm on old cars and black trim due to it not beading (although it will stop those pesky water beads from drying on the car)...the FK is a very gd reliable sealant that i use reguarly if only on my wheels and some autobahn which is ofc overkill. although i personally prefere waxes to sealants i still love FK1000 for doing other people's cars as its so clinical and reliable to still be going strong a long time after.

Well now im confussed because in tris's car cleaning thread it says clay-seal-polish-wax, and i have a wax not the best but it will do until it runs out same with polish but i though i was looking to buy a "clay bar" and then a sealant but collinite 915 and 476 are shown as waxes on cleanyourcar, could some one switch the light on in my head

EDIT: i like the beading look others have achieved

the wax stage is refferred to as the LSP (last stage product). This can either be sealant or wax- they both do the same thing.

Ahhh i understand now, so if i buy a clay bar then clay-polish-wax the car will be shine and sealed and then same time
Any recommendation on a clay bar?

yeah thats right.

i prefer sonus green clay to bilt hamber personally, although it will require you to buy a lubricant aswell. Sonus do one, but i use megs last touch as you can buy a 5 litre container that lasts over a year- and thats using it as a drying aid aswell

ill grab one of those and have a go, can you buy it in a smaller container around 1L just to have a go and see if i can actually do it ?

or meguiars do a kit called quik clay i believe that can be bought on ebay for about a tenner which includes a clay bar and quik detailer for lube
