When I'm taking a left turn I can hear a scrape scrape metallic sound from the front right wheel, it's not a grinding or clicking sound which makes me think it's not the drive shaft? There is no vibration through the steering wheel, I recently had the front jacked up and I couldn't feel any play in the wheel.
Any ideas, could it be the brake disk? If so why only when it's turning left?
Bit of a mystery...

theres a tin plate between ball joint and disc, these go rusty and thin then have a propensity to touch disc causing lots of noise
you need wheel off ground to confirm, then bend it away with flat bladed instrument carefully

Failing that, check strut top mounts for play, and for broken spring.

I second this, had a very similar sound and turns out it was my strut mount bearing. It creates a horrible sound when the bearing isn't pivoting properly when the strut rotates.

Easy job to do, just make sure you are very safe when taking springs off, they can do some damage if not compressed properly.

Quick update turns out it was the heat shield behind the disk catching, equilibrium restored for now! Disks look a bit fubar so might have a go at replacing them plus pads, first time I've attempted but looks pretty straight forward?
