I have just bought a marea estate and there is a light on the dash that is on most of the time looks like a hose with something comeing out of it, i have been told that its the warning light for the engine?? is it?

Also it runs like a bag of bolts, it seems to miss fire and doesnt tick over well??
Also... and this is my last one, when you change gear there is a funny noice like whirring is this what its supose to sound like???

Iv never had a fiat before and dont know anything about them?? What do you all think sould i scrap it.

Its only 5 years old!!

Help and kind person out there pleazzz

Morning bonnie bubble,

the light you see is telling you that there is a problem with the injection system. There are probably about 300 reasons why this light is on. You best bet would be to get a Fiat garage to read the error code, about 30 quid from a good fiat delearship. This will hopefully pinpoint the reason and will save you time and money in the long run

we will need to know the following to maybe help you

model of marea
mileage
service history

the noise on changing gear does it happen when depressing the clutch in when in gear or not, stationary or moving, as much info please

cheers

The noise only happens when you put the clutch down, doesnt happen any other time. Its a hard noise to explain as well its kind of a wigneing noise loud but not really irritateing. It's a 1.6 marea estate.

There is no service history with the car at all only the mot certificate so i dont even know if the 81000 miles is correct, The car itself is in good condition and the inside is imaculate so im kind of guessing that its not seen a good hammering and that the mileage is correct, but i am a woman and am probably wrong.

I will try and find my local fiat dealer and get it looked at, and tip on not getting ripped off??
