Calling Stilo Schumacher owners. I'm trying to get touch-up paint for my new Schumi. FIAT dealer tells me 'cos it's a Ferrari colour, it's not listed as a FIAT part and therefore not available. Anyone found a solution?

Looking up the paint code was the first thing I did. But dealer says it ain't on any list of FIAT paints. And FIAT parts UK confirm this. And the cost of a Ferrari touch-up stick doesn't bear thinking about..! Any other ideas?

check under the bonnet, theres usually some sort of code or name. its a foil sticker on the underside of the bonnet. well this was the case in mine. after spraying they have to say what it was done in. even if its a name, like 'ferrari flame red'
halfords can mix this up for you for a lot less than ferrari. with a code it would be very simple as ferrari have a few variants of red despite them all looking the exact same. there is a standard ferrari red which could do it
there is wee charts with a patch of colour and a hole in it so you can set it against the car and compare

2 things: make sure you compare in good light on a clean panel
and talk to the people in the store and see whos good at mixin, theres usually a few people that 'can' mix paint, and 1 r 2 people that are 'good' at mixing paint. eg: theres 6 in my store who 'can'. due to experience i would onli have one mix who is 'good' :)

hope ya find it (y)

considering theyre saving you quite a lot of money and bother the whole 'halfrauds' term doesnt really fit :p

no i did not, but that makes them even more desirable in my eyes :yum:

and not one shade of ferrari red is the same, they all have different shades, especially in the light;)

im sorry halfords workers, but i wouldnt trust them to mix a special paint, especially the ones near me:eek:

did you know all the schuis were built at the ferrari factory(y)

When you say 'built', I'll bet that consisted of little more than fitting the new bumpers and rear spoiler... And it doesn't say much for Ferrari when you consider that FIAT UK felt they had to employ the services of Prodrive to make the car half decent for the UK market!

why would it be anymore expensive? its a mix of a few colours which are readily availiable...

so you know what they stick in ferrari paint do ya, wan2 mix me some

because of the words ferrari, bump the price up on anything.

still trying to find evidence to back my claims of where they were built, sure i read it somewhere.

they may have only been painted there, who knows;)
