Seicento Saying hello and some ideas

Hello everyone.
I become the owner of my fiat seicento on Saturday was a non runner and not run since April did some checks charged the battery fired in to life did 40 miles. Power steering went down then the engine died got it home stared up again then checked alternator at full load was putting out less then a amp so changed it over now putting out good amps I think but not getting 14v at battery ran for 40 miles again then died so new battery in but still not getting 14v checked earths no high resistances.

Can I please get some help or a push in the right direction.

the power steering needs a good battery if the alternator at 2000 RPM holds the battery at 13.5v with head lights and blower and heated screen on the battery may be poor and the alternator ok.

try a high drain test any of the battery vendors will do one for free

you have charged the battery off the auto?

I've just put a new battery in it so I'll have a go at the other test in the morning and get back to you hope it goes well it jst a pain in the butt trying to work electric problem out. Thanks for the help.

Is the actual alternator putting out 14v, or are you checking at the battery? I.e. if the alternator itself is producing 14v, but not at the battery....I would be looking at the cable and connection between the two.

Thanks for the help checked the wiring had a very bad corroded wire to the fuse box at back of battery changed that and all is good with the world.
