There are a whole shed load of laws in the uk which mean that no one on here is technically allowed to tell you what to do with your cash (except dombooth who's not given you any advice just wants to take your money) unless they are a qualified authorised financial advisor.

Who do you bank with? They will have financial advisors who will be able to give you some idea of what's best, tax free cash ISA or regular savings account, long term share investment is fine if you don't want to have any access to your money for a few years and can be incredibly risky, you need to talk to someone upto date with what products are currently available and what will work best with what you plan to save
 
People who are not FSA registered can't give advice but they can give information.

For your information - I would put the lot on Sweden to win Euro 2012 at 50/1.

And don't listen to anything your bank says.

I trust them about as much as insurance companies!
