royal mail strike

I'll admit, I don't know the ins and outs of the strike, but it's rediculous.

You don't see nurses, soldiers, Police officers striking do you? Some say they are as hard done by as the RM.

Unions ruined this country's car industry and the way things are going, they'll ruin the postal service as well.

the workers are not whats ruining Rm.heres another one for you to ponder.
do you have sky,virgin,BT?
look at the letter,it doesnt have an RM stamp on it does it?
no they are delivered under downstream access.where RM is obliged ot deliver other companys mail for them.
these companys are allowed to undercut RM but RM cannot undercut them.
why are there no mail deliveries during the strike? companys like TNT have the licence to do it and already handle loads of mail but leave the costly part to RM.
downstream access LOSSES are up from 14 million to 40 million this year.
oh and allen leighton ,one of the RM chiefs is on the board of sky.yet uses tntfor mail :chin:

This is a closed debate.

The Public don't know what the real issues are and how it effects them.

Allan Leighton is on the board of News International and has created a news blackout on how this situation is reported, only allowing the Royal Mail propoganda machine to go forward.

The CWU have failed us miserably by not reporting, leafleting and buying space in the papers to inform the public of what's going on, if they knew they would back us without question.

Custard, I won't get int any debates with people outside of our industry as they are not armed with the full facts and details therefore making their opinions null and void, or to put t another way, totally irrelevant.

We have read hundreds of pages of lierature on the changes these goons propose and the net result will be a fragmented postal service, the closur of thousands of Post Offices, 85% of employes part time (how will they retain staff on £135 a week for 20 hours work), a much reduced pension for staff that have been paying in for years (a-la-Rober Maxwell) and now the positive, Royal Mail making profits......................................

At what cost though?

thats a touch unfair, it takes two to tango...and the management who have no issue with with awarding themselves a decent salary, have been just as much to blame for leading the operation right into the poo chute

its cool jai,if/when RM get their way we can listen to everyone complaining of how poorer the service is,how they have no local post office/post box, post isnt coming until 5pm,no regular postie then RM will get the price cap removed and you can pay a premium for the service they have ripped to shreds  (y)

I posted something on thursday last week but I didnt know about the strike until it was in the post  and they havent got it yet :(. Its a job application too so it better get delievered soon.
