Technical Rolling Radius

Technical Rolling Radius

oops, yeah 165/40 might have been a bit of a leap. looking, looks like you've got to go 165/60 to get any sort of choice. Speedo's pretty optimistic anyway usually.

i have 165/45/13 at, lewey. i'm thinking of getting 14's though and want to get as close to the correct radius so the speedo is kinda accurate. guess im going to need a very low sidewall
Obviously they are your tyres, but I would stick my neck out and say you haven't got 165/45/13 atm. That isn't a sold tyre size. Anyway 155/65 were the option tyre that became standard and 135/80 (ish) was the original spec. They are very similar in rolling radius of course. That's why 1408's 165/70 profile tyres equate to near real life speed as it cancels out the built-in over-read required by law of the 165/65 design.

As 1408 says, 165/55/14 is the best size for a 14" wheel to keep things as close to spec as possible and is a common tyre size and 14" wheel widths to accommodate 165 tyres are also common. 165/60/14 is also doable and would give a little gear lengthening which can be useful depending on the types of journeys you do and whether you have 5 speeds!

I also have some 14" wheels from a Lancia Y10 LX you might be interested in?

They are the same as the ones In this picture which I just found on the Internet. Took a while! These are the really rare 14" multi spokes as opposed to the 13" ones they put on the GTie models over here. The 14" ones only went on a few of the later left-hand drive models. They are basically very similar to the Dedra and Thema designs, but they are not as wide and have a perfect offset for the Panda.

Mine have really good condition Dunlop Sport 3000 165/60/13 tyres on. Unfortunately, the lacquer has peeled really badly and I would imagine that you would want them refurbished.

You may find that the cinq alloys don't have enough offset for the Panda, so they stick out more than ideal (borderline illegal at the front). Most people don't mind this and actively pursue the wider look, but I am just guessing you would prefer them "right". The offset issue will cause heavier steering and prevent self centring at low speeds too, but this is all minor stuff really that folks with unusual cars won't give a stuff about!
