Hi everyone. I have bought a 2009 citroen relay, when I bought it the seller said the rear parking sensors did not work. I have since noticed that the reversing lights do not work, I have checked the fuse and it is fine, I disconnected the reverse sensor on the gearbox and connected the two wires together and still no reverse lights so not the reverse sensor at fault. I then checked the two wires going to the sensor and do not have any power on either. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks Simon

On the X250 Ducato F35 (7.5A) in the cab fusebox gets a supply when the ignition is ON. This is then fed to the reversing switch on the gearbox, returns to the fusebox and is sent to the lamps.

Hi rayc, Thanks for your reply. I have checked F35 fuse and is ok and power is live to one side of the fuse. I do not know much about auto electrics so don't know what to do next.
Thanks Simon

You need to check that the supply is actually getting to the equipment side of the fuse and from there it gets to the switch.
Remove the fuse and wires to the switch. Join the wires together and connect 12v to them via a 10A fuse. The reversing lights should come on and the equipment side of the F35 fuse holder should have 12v on it.
If you look at the drawing there is a connector D004 between the fuse box and the switch. I am not sure but I suspect it is in the engine bay.

Hi rayc, I have done what you described and when the wires at the switch end are connected to 12v the reversing lights work and the parking sensors work but there is no power to the equipment side of the fuse. So I assume there is a problem with the wire between fuse and switch. As you say there is a connector in between so I will try and find this as a starting point.
Thanks Simon

Just add a new wire and route it through to where you need it. It will save trying to find a break in a wire that is buried in the harness.

Possibly using a piggy back fuse holder to bypass the rest of the fusebox.
