Two separate questions that relate in a way.
Firstly can the reverse signal be deactivated. It's a waste of time and drives me mad lol.
One of the tow-bars I was thinking of fitting bolts up through chassis. But on inspection the cable for the reverse sensors comes out of one of the pre drilled holes I would need to use to fit bar.

oops and a third!
On the subject of warning alarms. I also often need to put things in back ie wood, doors etc and leave tail gate unlatched (bungied down) any way to deactivate without whole heap of electric issues??

Any ideas on above will be greatly appreciated.:)

Regards.

BUMP.

surely somebody has fitted a tow-bar, any ideas relating to fitting and moving any cables etc.

Tailgate open sensor is incorporated in the lock so the answer to the question is no.

As regards the reverse sensors, try tracing the cable back as it must have a connector somewhere. Failing that cut the cable, re-route and reconnect.

I wouldn't disconnect the gearbox switch without checking that it doesn't also activate the reverse light (MOT fail).

Any ideas how to disable bleep.

Thanks for all other replies. Particularly liked the get a more suitable vehicle;):)

as mep says reverse lights are not an mot fail. im not sure if they can be deactivated with fiat ecu scan I have the registered version ill check next time I connect to the car.

I know it'll see the parking sensor module. But from memory on fault code reads. However there must be a way as it can be done with official Fiat towing electrics kit, but at £200ish is a stupid price IMO.

If the tailgate sensor is in the lock this is the simplest fix of all, close the lock with a screwdriver or one of the bungie hoops = end of beeping!!
