Technical Reverse light probs

Hi new to this I have a prob with brake light not working, swapped bulbs around no luck. All other lights ok there muet be a switch somewhere cant find one near gear lever so i assume it must be on the gear box itself but where i cant find it.
Any help would be appreciated ta

do any reverse lights work? mine only has one as standard some have 2

Hi, your reversing light switch should be on the transmission casing, disconnect the connector and using a multimeter check for continuity between the pins when in reverse gear only, if there isn't and there is no apparent wiring damage, look at changing the switch.

hi, pull the plug off of the reverse light switch located somewhere on the gearbox and link the terminals using a piece of wire (make sure ignition is onj), if they come on its the switch thats faulty if they don't you have problems elsewhere.
