No I don't think so - not based on previous years.

Have a look at the reports & galleries from the link in my original post. There are plenty of newer cars. Anyway if we have him sorted & the DVLA accept the engine change without playing silly beggers, I'll then be putting him on an "F" plate so he'll look a bit older!

Not convinced about the drag strip though tbh!!!

But he'd be ideal for the drag strip!

And the hill at Brooklands! Second gear all the way.

I'm listing the people interested so far, as much for my benefit as anyone else. If all the 10 spaces fill up & there are more interested I'll ask for more space - not that the organisers have got back to me yet - though they have cashed my cheque for the stand fee! (y)

1. Palio
2. Homeward
3. Scout
4. Pete (non FF, or at least I don't know his FF handle)
5. VmanC (tbc?)
6. Panda Panda
7. Freebo
8. James (non FF, or at least I don't know his FF handle)
9. TBA
10. TBA

Cheers, Gavin. (y)

Thread now stuck.

Only just spotted this though. We put all of the FF gear into storage but left the banners in the van although I do have the wheel plates and large flags.

Santa Pod isn't far from me so we will have to arrange getting any bits you need for the show.

:worship: Many thanks :slayer:

I see we are now listed on their website, so I guess we've got a stand!

I hadn't thought about any flaggy type stuff, but if you're nearby that would work (y)

Are you going to pop along to do us a BBQ - might be good practice for Stanford the following week  :D

As the more observant amongst you will have seen, the event thread at the top has been updated.

I have just received the "hangers" for the display cars - these get your car into the display area and away from the public car parks. Please remember this is only for the car & you need entry tickets (they are cheaper in advance up to 13th June).

I don't yet have an exact location but we are in the blue zone (which I requested). This should be near to the strip & the food - if you don't like it I'm to blame!!

I need to get the "hangers" to everyone - please see below for your individual destructions.......

homeward - are you still ok for this please, and if so I'll post your "hanger"?

scout - are you still ok for this please & if so I'll let you have the "hanger" when I see you.

panda panda
Freebo
Panda Mo
VmanC

are you each still ok for this please & if so I'll bring the "hangers" to Panda camp?

Must go and order a ticket... -- had completely forgotten (and what a stupid system it is: us senile oldies can't cope with more than one ticket at a time...). :bang:

Edit
Ticket ordered! (What a kerfuffle, when you haven't had your first coffee of the day....) :)

VmanC -- any chance Pippin will be drag-ready (only joking...) by then (he'll need an oil change, gearbox oil change and MOT, if so...)?! :worship:

If not, Palio -- what car am I allowed to bring? Could bring Betty: but not so sure I want to drive a car that won't idle.... Is this time to try out the Uno...?

Losing practically all of last week has shaken up various deadlines, Betty, Pippin, Panto, Gertie, etc etc, some were looking tricky before this to be honest, but I will report to all soon as I hope to get to the workshop tomorrow to assess things if nothing else.
I have Stanford hall in mind for Betty and Pippin even if the previous shows are out but don't give up on Santa Pod just yet.

homeward I think ideally they wanted older/retro cars but personally I have no issue with the Punto - what I don't know is whether there could be a problem at the gates (I suspect not, but.....).

If you would like to try the Uno please do feel free. Once the gearbox has warmed up, it seems fine. If you want to borrow anything I have, there's an open offer for you. (y)

Stanford Hall is perfect. Please don't pressure yourself to have him ready before then... -- and, if the worst comes to the worst, then make Pippin your last priority: although I set the most-Pandas-in-a-row challenge, I'm not too fussed about turning up in the Punto.

I will email them, and find out -- especially if it would take some weight from Vernon's shoulders....

Thank you: you are both a cruciverbalist scholar and a gentleman. I will be in touch...! [Apart from needing to warm the Uno up, what other(s) of your fleet (1) would you recommend (and it can be a manual, for the time being...); and (2) can easily be made available...?] :worship:

Thank you Stephen, I promise not to take advantage of your considerate nature

Now, where's my dictionary?

The Uno's the obvious choice - apart from being filthy dirty! Jasper the blue mk1 Panda is very easy to drive (the steering is lighter than a power assisted mk4 Panda! ) and from memory the clutch is light (he's also fairly clean). Howie the Sisley is fine too, though dirty. Freddie the light blue 127 is fairly light on the clutch but would probably be a step away from anything you're used to (he's also clean!). The Palio has a hideously heavy clutch (35 years of use mean it's at the end of its life), so probably not a good idea. I am hoping to take the Strada myself, but I guess that's another option.

Is that enough options yet???.......

Uno, Jasper, Howie, Freddie I'd say. (y)
