I have read the section on the BOO site about resetting the IACV ect by disconnecting the battery. As I have recently bought my Bravo is this worth doing? Is my driving style likely to be different enough to the previous owner to make this something that should be done even if there are no problems with the engine?

Conrad

Cheers for that Pete, I'll do mine during my lunch at work tomorrow and see if I get home again at the end of the day.

Just follow previous posts and after you reconnect the battery let the engine run at tickover for 5mins, then switch off. Then go for a nice run out, driving in your usual style, and it will learn your 'habits'!

You need to disconnect the battery for at least 8hrs, to get the ECU to forget its seetings...;)

******** :) - its 45 minutes Daz, but suggest an hour. It doesnt learn your driving habits, it learns the tolerances of the engine.

When i first got on this site...i was told 8hrs, but recommended overnight... :(

Just passing on used info...

Sorry i stand corrected.

Daz

~LOL, why do people recommend overnight. The ECU cant see what you are doing, honestly, so doing it under cover of darkness isn't really required :)

I only have one of my blue keys with me. Should I leave the reset until I have my code and the red key available in case anything goes wrong?

Conrad

You will be OK without the red key. If there is a problem with the ECU after disconnecting the battery a red key aint going to help you.

@Pete...whaddaya mean ratty.....f**k off. :)

Bored?

Nothing to do?

Got no friends?

HAVE A MEETING!

..and spread the misery around using such favourites as: -

BULLSHIT BINGO! Copy all those favourite management power-phrases such as "When all is said and done", "At the end of the day", and my personal favourite "The needs of the business dictate" down onto a grid and check them off as they are said. Once all are crossed off shout "BULLSHIT!" at the top of your voice;

NEXT STEP MAYHEM! Try to avoid be singled out as the Boss' patsy! "I want that by the "End of the Day"" D'OH!!!

EMAIL IGNORANCE! When you feel that someone isn't listening loudly declare that you will "send it to them on an email so that they can delete it instead of ignoring you to your face!"

BICUIT OF GLUTTONY! Stare longingly at the last biscuit summoning up the courage to take it and appear selfish then glare sullenly as you miss out to the Boss.

WATERFALL SHITTYS! Who will be the first to incurr the Boss' wrath by "popping out" mid-meeting for that desperate release?

Bored? Me? You betcha!!
