Hi, basically ive not done this before so need a dummies guide to fitting a CD player!

Im looking at replacing the factory fit stereo on a Fiat Punto Mk2 1999. Not looking for anything fancy, just a basic CD player.

Can anyone tell me what components i will need (other than the head unit) and recommend anywhere good for buying them ? Lastly, is it easy enough to do yourself or do i need to get someone who's done it before to fit it ?

Ive looked on caraudiodirect.co.uk and they say i need a fascia but don't mention anything about wiring or aerial adapters (although halfords say i do), does this sound right to you ?

Cheers in advance

Ok, this should be your shopping list

1)Get a fascia adapter, otherwise you cannot install a new radio
2)HU (duh). About the ISO most respectable brands are ISO compliant so need to worry about adapters (till now I had Clarion, Sony and Pioneer and all had ISO prebuilt in them)
3)The aerial has the standard male plug, in 10 years of working on car audio I have yet to see a different aerial plug.
4)Check out http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/home.html - they are the best IMHO

Need more help just PM ;)

Thanks for the advice everyone, appreciate it. Ill give it a go. cheers
