Renault scenic 1.4 16v expression

Hi i have just bought this car nothing wrong with it till i got home and the service indicator come on with top up oil indicator. Could anyone help me out what must i do as i am quite upset and have pregnant wife and i dont really want to tell her.

Top up oil perhaps?
And I'm sure this is Fiat Forum not Renault forum

You got the handbook for it?

If so get the handbook out look in the maintenance section look what oil it needs there will be a specific grade listed e.g. 10/40 acea c3 take a wander to your local car shop and buy a top up bottle

Add oil a bit at a time some will have a dipstick some won't I'd add about 100ml at a time keep checking the level do not over fill!!
