General Removing the Front top Grille?!

How do I remove the bottom grill? I'm keen to paint mine satin black as my '08 has the silver grill.

The same way as the top is removed

Might take a bit more force far better to take the cautious steady approach to minimise the risk of breaking any clips

if i was you if you can take the car out for a spin to get the engine warm then park in a warm garage for half an hour or so the combined heat from the radiator on the car and the warm garage should stop the plastic been so brittle due to the cold and therefore less risk of breakage

loop some rope in and out the grill, pull up to a lampost, tie it around the lampost, wack it in reverse and full speed (always check your rear view mirror) and bobs your uncle!!!! that bottom grill is a b*****d

I tried to remove the grilles today after driving around on a 30 degree day with heaps of sun and humidity. No luck, although i was being too cautious, it felt like i was going to rip off the whole bumper? it's very, very flexible for a bumper? (IMO?)

Should i just ignore instinct and try harder?

Ignore everything and pull hard...You may snap 1 or 2 clips but don't worry, the grill has alots of those to stay in its place.

I've yanked so hard, I feel like I'm gonna rip my fingers off not the bumper....

How was Andy Monty able to make it look so easy in his video :confused:

anyway I'll keep trying as I know the best response I can expect to get is 'pull harder'

It's no use! I'm pulled and twisted and pulled again but i can't get it out!...

It's really annoying because now i have one of each badge on.. :(

Just bought, kick plates and chrome tail pipe so will have them fitted at the dealership along with front badge! Saves me ****ing it up really!

Which kick plates and tailpipe did you buy mate?

I was searchin for removin the front grill the other day and came across this thread, read everyone sayin pull it, and thought 'my bumper is flexin a bit jus pullin it' then i came back in and read it a bit more and came across the video posted, followed then and pop pop pop, came off in 1 piece, no broken clips, badgeless slotted straight in, 2 minute job.

Well congrats!

I'm still struggling with mine! Tried again with no luck today... I even tied a pretty hefty string around the grill and pulled hard! Guess what... The string broke

I'm getting convinced that the newer GPs (2009) have the grille stuck on in a different way...

These are the grills I haven't seen them on another one around where I live so I can't ask them haha 1371330124356.jpg

Finally managed to get this off! Wasn't easy at all and broke a few clips in the process clean off!!
Broke the side clips on either side, two clips on top and one on the bottom!!
Might have to make use of that double sided number plate tape I read about in another thread.

Anyway, Spraying has already started (y)(y)
