General Removing the Exhaust

My exhaust needs a bit of repair work - the pipe coming out of the rear box needs to be welded. Is it possible to remove just that section of the exhaust?

judging by the age of your car i assume it aint the original 1 peice zaust. soo there should be a join somewere behind the back box. how ever if its like a mk2 punto then the zaust goes over the top of the rear axle so has to be kinda guided and turned to get over teh top.
